The Festool Planex is designed to take the previously physically hard and messy task of sanding drywall and make it a clean, fast operation. Unlike other competing units the sander is powered by a small motor right up at the disk head. This gives you far better reliability and more power than other units. The unit uses a 9 (actually 225mm) rotary disk for fast action. Both power and dusk removal are combined in a single integrated hose and handle which can be extended for high walls and ceilings. The basic unit comes with one extension which gets you to around 8.5 feet. For higher ceilings and walls you can add one or more extensions to the unit. You will reach high or difficult spaces with ease, which translates to not needing, or less time moving and setting up ladders, while achieving a more balanced, finished surface all around. Variable-speed controls at their fingertips allow them to adjust the machine to the needs of the surface, perfect for both rapid material removal or fine finishes. Adjustable suction controls decrease the perceived weight of the machine, so theyll work more comfortably over the course of a long day. The Planex will work with any Festool vacuum but a special vacuum with Auto Clean is available and recommended for regular use. The Auto Clean feature regularly blows air in the opposing direction of the suction to keep the filters clean and at peak efficiency.
